Telegram Integration: Your AI Chatbot is Now on Telegram
Published on by Antoni
TL;DR
You can now deploy your FutureBase as a Telegram bot. Your customers can message your bot directly on Telegram and get instant AI-powered responses based on your knowledge base. Setup takes about 5 minutes.
Why Telegram?
Telegram has over 900 million active users worldwide. For many businesses—especially those with international customers—Telegram is where their users already spend time. Rather than asking customers to visit your website or use a specific support portal, you can now meet them where they are.
Here's what we've heard from customers:
- "Our users in Eastern Europe prefer Telegram over email"
- "We want to offer support without forcing people to our website"
- "Customers expect instant replies, even at 3 AM"
The Telegram integration solves all of these.
What You Get
Instant AI-Powered Responses
When someone messages your Telegram bot, they get an immediate response. No waiting for business hours. No "we'll get back to you in 24 hours." The AI draws from your knowledge base to provide accurate, helpful answers in seconds.
Full Conversation Context
The bot doesn't just answer individual questions—it maintains context. If a user asks a follow-up question, the AI understands what they're referring to. Up to 50 previous messages are used to provide context-aware responses.
Customizable Tone
Not every brand sounds the same. You can configure how your bot communicates:
| Tone | Best For |
|---|---|
| Professional | B2B, finance, legal |
| Friendly | Consumer apps, e-commerce |
| Supportive | Healthcare, sensitive topics |
| Casual | Gaming, social apps |
| Formal | Government, enterprise |
Smart Message Batching
Users often send multiple messages in quick succession. Instead of responding to each one separately (which would be chaotic), the bot can wait a configurable amount of time to batch messages together. The default is 2 seconds—fast enough to feel responsive, but smart enough to handle rapid-fire messages.
Typing Indicators
While the AI generates a response, your bot shows the standard Telegram "typing..." indicator. Users know something is happening.
Security Built In
- Bot tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM
- All webhooks are verified using Telegram's secret token mechanism
- Your bot only receives messages sent directly to it
How It Works
- User sends a message to your Telegram bot
- Telegram forwards it to FutureBase via webhook
- AI processes the message with your knowledge base for context
- Response is generated and sent back to the user
The entire round-trip typically takes 1-3 seconds, depending on query complexity.
Getting Started
Setup takes about 5 minutes:
1. Create a Telegram Bot
Open Telegram, search for @BotFather, and send /newbot. Follow the prompts to choose a name and username. BotFather will give you a bot token—copy it.
2. Connect in FutureBase
Go to Integrations in your dashboard, click Install on Telegram, paste your bot token, and click Connect. That's it.
3. Configure and Test
Adjust the response tone and delay to match your brand. Then search for your bot on Telegram, hit Start, and send a test message.

What's Next
This is our first channel integration, and we're just getting started. Based on your feedback, we're planning:
- Group chat support — Let the bot respond in group conversations
- Rich media responses — Support for images, buttons, and inline keyboards
- Proactive messages — Send updates and notifications to users
- More channels — WhatsApp, Discord, Slack, and more are on the roadmap
Try It Now
If you have a FutureBase account, the Telegram integration is available today in your dashboard under Integrations. If you're new, sign up and you can have a working Telegram bot in under 10 minutes.
